Payroll Services Alliance Webinar: The Importance of GDPR to Non-EU Based Organisations

Payroll Services Alliance 10th Oct 2018

With its implementation on 25th May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has lead businesses to change how they handle personal and sensitive data. This new regulation is especially important to HR and the risks of non-compliance are high, with potential fines reaching €20m or 4% of annual turnover. To help organisations ensure compliance, the Payroll Services Alliance (PSA) is hosting a webinar to clarify exactly how you can avoid significant GDPR fines.

GDPR may be an EU law, but the businesses it affects are not limited to this territory: any organisation that processes the data of an EU resident is required to comply. The regulation can seem especially complex for organisations outside the EU, so join Sheila M. Fitzpatrick, Worldwide GDPR Chief Privacy Officer, Data Privacy and Sovereignty Laws at FitzPatrick & Associates and SD Worx’s Chief Risk and Security Officer, Gert Beeckmans to find out exactly how GDPR affects non-EU based organisations.

On 31st October at 8 am GMT (4pm – SG time), these two industry experts will be discussing this new privacy framework in depth. This webinar will look at on the extensive rights on personal data that you hold as well as investigating the potential effect of sharing your employee data with other territories beyond the EU.

Gert and Sheila will cover:

• How GDPR affects non-EU based companies
• Post-GDPR power to the individual
• International employee data transfers
• Some practical, real-life HR cases

This webinar is a collaboration between Ascender and SD Worx – members of the Payroll Services Alliance. You can sign up on Ascender or SD Worx website.
