Employees now expect the workplace to be as digital as their home lives, especially with the workplace now bursting with Millennials, and Generation Z also entering the workforce.
So, how can payroll teams embrace digital? By automating back-office and mundane tasks, HR teams can continue to focus on the human-aspect of the work. Alongside automation, workplaces should also introduce capabilities that are in line with current technology, including digital assistants. A digital workplace will not only attract employees, it will also allow employees to embrace technology in their roles and streamline tasks.
3/ Global focus, local understanding
As the world becomes more globalized, so do employees. Technology and interconnectivity now make it easy for an employee to work remotely, or around the other side of the world. Because of this, payroll professionals should keep an open mind to employees that aren’t office based.
As a company—and employees—expand globally, keeping track of payroll that encompasses local legislation and laws can be difficult.
